Experienced British journalist Sam Dean of The Telegraph has revealed that North London giants Arsenal are looking to bolster their squad for the remainder of this season during this winter transfer market.

Sam Dean said that the Gunners want to bring in a box-to-box midfielder and a defender as the club prepares for a tough battle to make the top four in the Premier League.

A top-four place in the Premier League will secure a spot in the Champions League for next season.

Europa League is another avenue for Arsenal to make the Champions League next season as the winner of the competition will qualify for Europe’s premier club competition in the next campaign.

Arsenal are nine points off the last place in the top four of the Premier League currently occupied by Chelsea.

Mikel Arteta has been able to get the best out of the team he met on ground since his appointment last summer but that does not stop him from signing players that could further improve his team especially with the club still active in three competitions couples with the recent injury to Calum Chambers.

The England international is undergoing rehabilitation after knee surgery carried out last month.
