Newcastle United have been advised to pursue a deal for experienced Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana by Sky Sports pundit Joleon Lescott.

The former Premier League winner with Manchester City talked about Adam Lallana, Liverpool and Newcastle United on Soccer Saturday, a programme on Sky Sports.

According to him, Newcastle United could sign Adam Lallana to ease the pressure of having many players out injured.

The Magpies are one of the worst injury-hit squads in the Premier League but that didn’t stop them from battling to a 1-1 draw away to Wolverhampton Wanderers in their latest league game.

Newcastle United have over a dozen players out injured at the moment and alongside Bournemouth, they are the top two injury-hit squads in the Premier League.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp previously hinted that this season could be the last for Adam Lallana who has six months left on his present contract at Anfield.

Newcastle United could sign him in this transfer window for a knockdown fee or wait till the summer for a free transfer move.

Adam Lallana signed for Liverpool from fellow Premier League side Southampton in a £25m deal.

He was the Southampton skipper before his move to Liverpool in the summer of 2014.
