New Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that club vice-captain Hector Bellerin is not ready to return to first team action ahead of the Crystal Palace game at Selhurst Park on Saturday lunchtime.

Mikel Arteta provided the update on Hector Bellerin and his injury woes during his pre-match press conference for the Crystal Palace game.

The Spaniard talked about his players, transfers and Crystal Palace during his latest press conference on Thursday.

On Bellerin, Arteta confirmed that the Spanish international has returned to full training before adding that the Crystal Palace game will come too soon for him.

Without Hector Bellerin who is still battling to be fit for over a month after the right hamstring injury sustained during the warm-up game before the West Ham game, Ainsley Maitland-Niles will continue his good form at right-back.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles has been one of the major beneficiaries of the new regime under Mikel Arteta as his form has really improved since the former Manchester City assistant manager took charge of the team.

Arteta has won his last two games in charge of Arsenal and his team could make it three wins in a row with victory over a Crystal Palace side struggling with injuries.
