Arsenal lost the services of former skipper Laurent Koscielny to French Ligue 1 club Bordeaux last summer and their defense seems to have worsened as a result of the exit of the ex-French national team center-back.
Two defenders namely David Luiz and William Saliba were signed to compensate for his exit though the latter was loaned to French club Saint Etienne whom the Gunners paid £27m to secure his transfer.
William Saliba is expected to return to Arsenal this summer after his season-long loan deal with Saint Etienne of French Ligue 1.

David Luiz was a summer signing from London rivals Chelsea but his performances have not been good enough this season.
The appointment of Mikel Arteta as the new Arsenal manager seems to have brought the best out of David Luiz who’s back to his best but the Gunners still need defensive cover especially with the long-term injury to Calum Chambers.
England international won’t play for Arsenal again until next season after he sustained a serious knee injury that could rule him out of action for up to nine months.
Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng has been touted as the short-term replacement for Calum Chambers as the German international is no longer in the first team picture at the Allianz Arena.
