Arsenal were one of the clubs initially linked with the Moroccan international player last summer after his numerous stellar displays for the Dutch champions.
He played his role as Ajax Amsterdam ended last season with two major trophies.
Dutch Eredivisie title and the Dutch Cup were both won by Ajax in the last campaign in addition to a semifinal place in the Champions League before a dramatic exit to Tottenham Hotspur.
Mikel has revived the interest of the Gunners in Ziyech who scored three goals and three assists in 11 Champions League games as Ajax stunned better teams like Real Madrid and Juventus to reach the last four.
