Mikel Arteta and Arsenal have been given a big transfer boost in the bid to add to the playing squad at the Emirates Stadium following the news that one of their major targets has been told that he can leave his present team during this winter’s transfer market.

The Express stated that Hakim Ziyech has been told by Ajax Amsterdam bosses that he can leave the club this month as long as they receive £43m for him.

Hakim Ziyech has netted eight times and also assisted an astonishing 21 goals in 27 games for Ajax Amsterdam this season.

Arsenal were one of the clubs initially linked with the Moroccan international player last summer after his numerous stellar displays for the Dutch champions.

He played his role as Ajax Amsterdam ended last season with two major trophies.

Dutch Eredivisie title and the Dutch Cup were both won by Ajax in the last campaign in addition to a semifinal place in the Champions League before a dramatic exit to Tottenham Hotspur.

Mikel has revived the interest of the Gunners in Ziyech who scored three goals and three assists in 11 Champions League games as Ajax stunned better teams like Real Madrid and Juventus to reach the last four.
