Manchester United are expected to be active in the transfer window which opened free days ago amidst the rise in injury problems to the playing squad.

The Red Devils are hit the most in midfield with two key players missing for the next few weeks.

Manchester United were in the market for a midfielder with immense creativity and the recent injuries to Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba would have heightened the quest to sign players.

Scott McTominay went off injured in the Newcastle United league game played on Boxing Day at Old Trafford and the Scottish national team player is not expected to return to action until the end of this month as a result of the knee injury sustained during the Magpies clash.

For Paul Pogba, he has undergone a minor surgery to correct an ankle problem and the player will miss the next three to four weeks as disclosed by his manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Manchester United will intensify their efforts to sign two in-form midfielders in the top flight of English football as per the Daily Express.

The two midfielders are Jack Grealish of Aston Villa and James Maddison of Leicester City.

They are the two best playmakers in the Premier League.
