Andy Robertson

Liverpool defender Andy Robertson has pulled out of the Euro 2020 qualifiers for Scotland as a result of an injury.

Andy Robertson is the Scotland national team skipper and he’ll miss the upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against Cyprus and Kazakhstan.

The Liverpool left-back sustained the injury during the blockbuster Premier League meeting with champions Manchester City on Sunday.

Robertson was a key performer for the Reds as they beat Manchester City 3-1 thereby extending their lead at the top of the league table.

The Scottish left-back provided the assist for the second goal scored by Mohamed Salah.

The Salah strike came in the 13th minute after Brazilian national team midfielder Fabinho had scored the opening goal of the game on six minutes in a controversial manner.

Sadio Mane added a third goal for hosts Liverpool at the start of the second half off an assist from club skipper Jordan Henderson.

Manchester City pulled one back through Bernardo Silva and his goal proved to be a mere consolation.

Apart from Andy Robertson, the likes of Scott McTominay and Ryan Fraser will also sit out the Scotland Games.

Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay sustained an injury during the Brighton game on Sunday, while Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser sustained an injury during the Newcastle United match on Saturday.
