One of the transfer priorities for Manchester United in the New Year is to sign a playmaker to ease the creative burden on the pitch during Premier League games and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen is a top target in that regard.
Danish international Eriksen is widely regarded to be one of the best and most effective playmakers in the Premier League but he has not had the best of times with Tottenham Hotspur this season as he continues to be involved in a contract dispute with the North London club.

Christian Eriksen has six months left on his present Tottenham Hotspur deal and he has already informed new manager Jose Mourinho that he won’t be signing a new contract.
With his Spurs future in limbo, Christian Eriksen can start to speak with foreign clubs over a free transfer move next summer.
Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, and Real Madrid were linked with Eriksen this summer and the clubs might still be interested in him.
According to the report from the Telegraph, Manchester United will wait till next summer to sign Christian Eriksen on a free transfer rather than pay around £40m to sign him in the January transfer window which opens again in two days’ time.
