Chelsea fans were highly critical of the performance of England international Callum Hudson-Odoi who was restored into the starting XI for the Boxing Day clash at home to Southampton in the Premier League.

The Blues were convincingly beaten 2-0 at home by the Saints as they suffered their sixth defeat at home in all competitions this season.

They have now been beaten four times in the Premier League as well as the 1-0 home defeat during their Champions League opener vs Spanish La Liga side Valencia on Matchday One plus the Carabao Cup fourth round defeat to top four rivals Manchester United at home.

Marcus Rashford scored twice as Manchester United eliminated Chelsea from the Carabao Cup at the fourth round stage via a 2-1 loss at home.

Reacting to the Southampton game, Chelsea fans took to their various social media accounts to express their displeasure at the performance of Callum Hudson-Odoi who played for 67 minutes before being replaced by Christian Pulisic.

Southampton scored their first goal in the 31st minute after the England international winger was dispossessed with Michael Obafemi getting the goal before Nathan Redmond added a second goal for his team with 17 minutes left to play.

The Saints thereafter held on for a famous victory over their hosts Chelsea.
