Manchester United have been dealt a big blow ahead of their Premier League clash with top four rivals Arsenal at the start of next year after young midfielder Scott McTominay suffered an injury that will rule him out of that game.
Scott McTominay has been one of the best players for Manchester United in the current campaign and the Scotland international has been an ever present in the starting XI at the club.
He sustained an injury during the emphatic 4-1 win over Newcastle United on Boxing Day in the Premier League.
Scott McTominay sustained the injury in the first half of the game and he tried to run it off to no effect before Paul Pogba replaced him at the halftime interval.

In his post-match press conference, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said that Scott McTominay injured his knee ligaments but the entent of the damage is not known.
Scott McTominay will miss the festive games against Burnley on Saturday and Arsenal on New Year’s Day as a result of the injury.
The Scotland international went off injured at the halftime interval when his team were leading 3-1 at home to Newcastle United through the goals from Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford after Matty Longstaff had scored the opening goal of the game for his beloved Newcastle United.
Martial wrapped up the result with his second goal in the second half.
