Arsenal fans are in cloud nine at the moment following the news that the club has contacted Italian Serie A giants Napoli via a third party over the possibility of signing their star defender Kalidou Koulibaly.
Senegalese international Koulibaly has built his reputation as one of the best center-backs on the world football stage and the 28-year-old is rated at around £55m by Napoli who could sell him in the January transfer window or in the summer of 2020.
Arsenal have glaring defensive problems and new manager Mikel Arteta is keen to put an end to those issues.

According to journalist Ian McGarry told Transfer Window Podcast that Arsenal have contacted Napoli over a possible transfer for Kalidou Koulibaly and that the Italians are also interested in the Arsenal duo of Lucas Torreira and Sead Kolasinac.
A swap deal could be the best thing for all the parties involved but Napoli president Aurelio Di Laurentiis might not like the idea as he wants money only for Kalidou Koulibaly rather than a swap deal for left-back Sead Kolasinac or defensive midfielder Lucas Torreira.
The Gunners have been very poor defensively this term after leaking 27 goals in just 18 games in the Premier League this term.
