Fallen Premier League giants Manchester United will sign two new players in the January transfer window according to the Daily Mail.

The Red Devils are expected to strengthen their squad as they attempt to finish the current season strongly with the club fighting for honors on four fronts.

Manchester United are in the semifinals of the Carabao Cup and they have been drawn with city rivals Manchester City as they chase a place in the final of the competition.

They are also in the round of 32 as far as the Europa League is concerned, while their FA Cup campaign will start in the coming days.

Lastly, Manchester United are in the race for the top four places on the Premier League table and are four points off Chelsea who are in fourth position and that last spot for Champions League qualification.

The aforementioned publication revealed that Manchester United want to sign a striker and a defensive midfielder.

Red Bull Salzburg striker Erling Haaland is said to be closing in on a move to Manchester United with the Red Devils seen as firm favourites to sign him next month, while they have also been linked with a swoop for defensive midfielder Declan Rice who plays for West Ham United in the Premier League.
