After a goalless affair in the first half, Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford gave the Red Devils the lead as he capitalised on some loose defending from the visitors for his 14th goal of the season for the Red Devils in all competitions.
His goal came with six second half minutes gone before Colchester United defender Ryan Jackson put through his own net to double the hosts’ lead.
Anthony Martial secured the result with a third goal after the hour mark as Manchester United confirmed their place in the semifinals.
