Manchester United talisman Marcus Rashford showed why he’s one of the most in-form players in the Premier League at the moment following his goal during the Manchester Derby meeting with city rivals Manchester City.

Rashford and Manchester United were guests of Premier League champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday evening in what was a Matchday 16 clash in the league.

Manchester City were heavy favourites for the derby but the Citizens didn’t live up to that tag as they were beaten 2-1 by the Red Devils.

It was their second defeat at home this season in the English Premier League (EPL) after the 2-0 defeat to Europa League campaigners Wolverhampton Wanderers in October.

Manchester United took the lead through Marcus Rashford who converted the spot kick after he had been fouled by Manchester City playmaker Bernardo Silva.

Marcus Rashford has now scored 13 goals in all competitions for Manchester United this season thereby equalling his personal record.

The England international has been one of the top performers for Manchester United this season.

Anthony Martial added a second Manchester United goal in the first half to make it a 2-0 lead at the halftime interval.

Manchester City defender Nicholas Otamendi halved the deficit just after coming on in the final ten minutes of the game and that goal proved to be a mere consolation for the Citizens who fail to keep up with leaders Liverpool at the Premier League summit.
