West London giants Chelsea have been backed to pick up the three points on offer for the league game at the home of Everton this weekend.

Tennis star Andy Murray made his prediction on several Premier League Matchday 16 games including the Everton vs Chelsea clash at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon.

According to the former Wimbledon Open champion, Chelsea will secure the maximum points via a 2-1 win over Everton who are without a permanent manager following the dismissal of Marco Silva earlier this week.

Marco Silva was appointed the Everton manager last summer and he led them to eighth place on the Premier League table last summer.

He had not reached the heights of last season in the new Premier League campaign and the final straw was the Merseyside Derby which Everton lost 5-2 on Wednesday night.

Marco Silva was sacked on Thursday and he has since been replaced by club legend Duncan Ferguson who will be in temporary charge of the team starting with the Everton game.

For Chelsea, a win over Everton will consolidate their spot in the top four on the Premier League.

The Blues beat Aston Villa in their last league game to end a two-game losing run and could make it two wins in a row at Everton this weekend.
