Former European champions Manchester United have been handed a major transfer boost in their quest to sign Christian Eriksen from Tottenham Hotspur when the January transfer market reopens in a matter of days.

This is coming on the back of the news that Christian Eriksen has told new Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho that he won’t commit his future to the North London club.

According to the Daily Mirror, Christian Eriksen has maintained his stance of not signing a new Spurs deal despite the change of manager.

Spurs changed their manager at the end of last month with Jose Mourinho replacing Mauricio Pochettino who was sacked for the poor start to the season.

Under the new manager, Manchester United have won all their three games including two league matches.

Christian Eriksen came close to leaving Spurs in the summer but was unable to achieve his aim mainly due to the lack of serious interest from his preferred destination Real Madrid.
