Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri has picked his winner for the 2019 edition of the Ballon d’Or Award which will take place on Monday night.

The former Chelsea boss was asked about his pick for the Ballon d’Or Award during his pre-match press conference ahead of the Juventus vs Sassuolo game in the Italian Serie A.

According to him, star player Cristiano Ronaldo should take the award for this year to add to his previous five wins.

Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona skipper Lionel Messi have won the most Ballon d’Or Awards with each player winning it five times.

Both ex-Man Utd player Ronaldo and Messi are in the running for the 2019 edition of the yearly award.

Cristiano Ronaldo made a claim to the Ballon d’Or Award for this year after his goal for the Old Lady against Sassuolo in the Italian Serie A on Sunday afternoon.

He scored the equalizer for the Italian champions from the penalty spot midway into the second half after Sassuolo had come from behind to take a 2-1 lead.

Former Chelsea player Jeremie Boga and Italian striker Francesco Caputo scored either side of the halftime interval to overturn the opening goal of the game by Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci.
