Liverpool are set to do battle with fellow English top flight side Tottenham Hotspur in their quest to sign in-form Lyon attacker Memphis Depay.
According to the Daily Mirror, Dutch international Depay is on the transfer list at Liverpool as they look to bolster their squad in the January transfer window to further aid their strong position in the Premier League.
Liverpool have an eight-point lead at the top of the table after just 14 league games this season.
The Reds have Tottenham Hotspur to contend with as the North Londoners are also interested in signing Memphis Depay who has been in very good form for Lyon this season.
Memphis Depay has scored 11 goals in all competitions for Lyon this season over 14 games only.

The former Manchester United player has four goals in four Champions League games for Lyon in Group G.
In the league, he has a return of seven goals and one assist from 10 games.
Manchester United could stop both Liverpool and Spurs from signing Memphis Depay who didn’t enjoy the best of careers at Old Trafford before his transfer to Lyon in January 2017.
The Red Devils inserted a buyback clause in the transfer to Lyon meaning that they have first refusal on the player.
