Romelu Lukaku Reveals When He Knew Man Utd Career Was Over

Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku has disclosed when he knew that his career at Manchester United was over in a chat with Italian media portal Corriere dello Sport.

Lukaku left Manchester United for Inter Milan in the summer after the two clubs agreed a deal of around £74m for him.

It is the record transfer for Inter Milan ahead of previous record holder Zlatan Ibrahimovic, while the transfer is also a record for player sales at Manchester United.

Belgian international Lukaku told the aforementioned Italian media outlet that he knew that his Manchester United career was over when manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer asked him to play on the wings.

He played on the wings during big games against Arsenal which ended in a 3-1 away win during the FA Cup fourth round and during the goalless draw at home to Liverpool in the Premier League last season.

Romelu Lukaku has been in very good form since leaving Manchester United for Inter Milan.

He has scored 10 goals in 13 appearances in the Italian Serie A this season thus making him the first player to manage the feat since the 1947/48 season.

Manchester United have struggled to replace his goals this season on the back of the failure to sign a replacement for him.
