Premier League side Manchester United are said to be targeting a January deal for Red Bull Salzburg star Erling Haaland who has painted European football with goals this term.

This is according to the publication from the Daily Mail which claimed that Manchester United are plotting a move for the player in January with the incentive of sending him back to Red Bull Salzburg on loan for the rest of the season.

Red Bull Salzburg have already slapped an asking price of €100m on the striker as per Tuttosport and the Red Devils won’t have much problems meeting that transfer fee.

Erling Haaland is no stranger to Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and their relationship could prove crucial in the scheme of things.

The player is the son of former Leeds United and Manchester City player Alfe-Ing Haaland.

The Norwegian international has already expressed his desire to play in the Premier League having pointed out that he loves English football.

Erling Haaland has scored 26 goals in just 18 games in all competitions for Red Bull Salzburg including five hattricks.

He is also the leading goalscorer in the Champions League group stage this season with seven goals in just four matches.
