Granit Xhaka

Former Arsenal striker Granit Xhaka could leave the club for Italy when the winter transfer window reopens in a few weeks’ time as it looks like the Swiss international star is keen to leave the North Londoners after his clash with fans last month.

Granit Xhaka has not played the last four Arsenal games in all competitions since his foul-mouthed rant towards the Arsenal fans during the league game with Crystal Palace in the London Derby clash played at the Emirates Stadium.

Swiss media outlet RSI claimed that Granit Xhaka has been spotted househunting in Milan and that has fuelled the possibility of a move to seven-time European champions AC Milan.

He has earlier been linked with Inter Milan in the summer though it seems the latest news is about AC Milan whose chief executive Ivan Gazidis was on the payroll at Arsenal before he moved to Italy.

Granit Xhaka was dropped as the Arsenal captain earlier this month by manager Unai Emery due to his misdemeanor last month during the league game with Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium.

He reacted to chorus of jeers and boos from fans during the game while being substituted and that has led to his no-show at the club.

Three European sides are reportedly keen on a January swoop for Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka.

This is according to the report from the Daily Mail which claimed that three clubs want to rescue Granit Xhaka from his nightmare at North London giants Arsenal.

The three European sides are German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund, Premier League outfit Newcastle United and seven-time European champions AC Milan.

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka was named the club captain earlier this year after the votes from the players as conducted by manager Unai Emery.

The Swiss international had been acting as the club’s skipper since the exit of Laurent Koscielny in the summer before his appointment was confirmed in September.

His reign as the permanent Arsenal captain didn’t last long before Unai Emery removed him from the role on the back of his conduct towards the club’s fans during a recent league game.

Granit Xhaka used expletives against the fans while he was being subbed off for young Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka during the Premier League game at home to fellow London side Crystal Palace.

The incident overshadowed the game which ended in a 2-2 draw.

Franck Kessie is in his third season at seven-time champions AC Milan after joining the Rossoneri from fellow Italian Serie A outfit Atalanta.

According to Birmingham Mail, Wolves are edging closer to a January transfer for Frank Kessie.

It was revealed that the earlier reports claimed that the Midlands club had agreed on a move for the Ivorian international star since the summer but that is wide off the mark.

Franck Kessie had previously been linked with the London duo of Arsenal and Chelsea.

The Ivorian midfielder was a transfer target for the two London clubs in the summer though the Blues were unable to make any transfer due to the FIFA ban.

Chelsea were handed a transfer ban for two windows after they were deemed to have breached rules about signing players under the age of 18 by world football’s governing body FIFA.

The West Londoners appealed to FIFA over the ruling but their appeal was thrown out thereby prompting them to take the case to the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) with the ruling expected later this month.
