Man Utd Midfielder Singled Out For Praise After Brighton Win

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has singled out midfielder Fred after the victory over Brighton and Hove Albion in their Premier League clash at the weekend.

Former champions Manchester United returned to winning ways on the Premier League stage with the 3-1 victory over the Seagulls at the Theatre of Dreams.

In his post-match reaction to the game, Solskjaer singled out Fred for praise as he said that the Brazilian international was the catalyst for the win.

Fred has been one of the best Manchester United players in recent games as the former Shakthar Donetsk player has benefited from the absence of Paul Pogba due to injury.

Frenchman Pogba is still working his way back to fitness from an ankle injury.

The Manchester United midfielder has been battling with an ankle injury but there’s light at the end of the tunnel as he’s expected to return to action before the end of this month.

For now, Fred has done well in his absence including his man-of-the-match performance against Brighton.

Andreas Pereira, Davy Propper’s own goal and Marcus Rashford got the goals for the Red Devils, while Brighton skipper Lewis Dunk scored the consolation for his team at the Theatre of Dreams.

How Liverpool Equal Record League Unbeaten Run vs Brighton

Reigning European champions Liverpool have equaled their unbeaten run in the league after the win over Brighton and Hove Albion earlier this weekend.

Liverpool had the opportunity to equal their record league unbeaten run of 31 games against Brighton and they were able to achieve that target with the 2-1 home win over the Seagulls.

The Premier League leaders scored two goals in the first through a pair of headers from center-back Virgil Van Dijk who profited from two excellent deliveries off the boot of Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Liverpool were crushing to victory until the moment of madness from goalkeeper Alisson Becker who stopped a goalscoring opportunity with his hands outside the box.

The Brazilian international shot-stopper received his marching orders as a result and Liverpool had to sub off Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for his deputy Adrian.

Brighton scored from the resulting freekick after skipper Lewis Dunk caught out the substitute goalkeeper.

Liverpool eventually held on for the nervy win to open an 11-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.

The Reds have 40 points from the 14 league games played this season, while defending champions and nearest challengers Manchester City are on 29 points.

Leicester City are also on 29 points but are in third place due to inferior goal difference but they can close the gap on Liverpool to eight points with a win over Everton later this weekend.

Merseyside giants Liverpool have been handed a big injury blow ahead of their league game with Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.

This is due to the injury news on star midfielder Fabinho as provided by the Reds.

Brazilian international Fabinho has been ruled out of action till the New Year as a result of the ankle ligaments damage suffered in midweek.

Fabinho went off during the first half of the Champions League game with Italian giants Napoli at home on Wednesday night as the Reds were made to wait for qualification to the next stage.

Liverpool came from behind to record a 1-1 draw with Napoli in their Group E clash thereby taking the race for qualification to the last day.

Manchester United face a big hurdle to sign Leeds United defender Ben White in the form of arch rivals Liverpool with the two clubs interested in signing the player.

According to The Athletic, the two clubs will go head-to-head for the right to sign the Brighton loanee.

Ben White is on loan at Leeds United from Brighton and Hove Albion and he has been one of the best players for the former Champions League semifinalists.

Manchester United produced one of their best performances this season following the dominant win over Partizan Belgrade FC of Serbia in the Europa League.

The Red Devils booked their place in the last 32 of the Europa League with an emphatic 3-0 win over Partizan Belgrade courtesy the goals from Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial, and Marcus Rashford.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has praised one of his players on the back of the easy win over Brighton and Hove Albion in their Premier League meeting on Saturday evening.

Frank Lampard singled out young midfielder Mason Mount for praise after the game against Brighton at home.

The Blues were frustrated in the first half which ended in a goalless draw in addition to the fact that they had 17 shots in just 45 minutes.

Mason Mount capitalized on an error from Brighton defender Adam Webster to give Chelsea a good chance of breaking the deadlock.

The young Englishman was brought down by summer signing Webster and that led to the opening goal of the game from Italian international midfielder Jorginho who made no mistake from the penalty spot.

Chelsea doubled their lead towards the end of the game via the aforementioned Willian.

Apart from the penalty incident, Mason Mount had a very good game and that led to the praise from his manager.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard won his first game at home as the Blues boss following the straightforward win over Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.

Lampard and Chelsea played hosts to Brighton and it was the home side who triumphed at the end of the week seven encounter at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea had failed to win their first three games at home in the Premier League under the guidance of Frank Lampard before the game against Brighton.

Lampard had previously led Chelsea to two draws and one loss before the home game against the Seagulls.

Chelsea started their home campaign in the league with a 1-1 draw with Leicester City before they were forced to a 2-2 draw by newly promoted side Sheffield United who came from two goals down to earn a share of the spoils.

Chelsea lost 2-1 to league leaders Liverpool in their last home game in the Premier League.

The Blues initially struggled to break down the Seagulls as they had 17 shots in the first half without any end product.

The situation changed at the start of the second half when Ross Barkley was brought down in the box and Italian international Jorginho converted the penalty to give Chelsea the lead.

Willian wrapped up the easy win with his strike towards the end of the game.
