Tottenham Hotspur are set to make a profit of £30m should they accept United’s offer for Denmark international midfielder Christian Eriksen in the winter.
It is believed that the Red Devils representatives have taken an official step towards luring the player to Old Trafford in two months’ time having held talks with Eriksen’s agent during the week.
Spanish media outlet El Desmarque said that the 27-year-old attacking midfielder is currently in talks with United Over the possibility of joining them in January despite Madrid’s reported interest in his services.

The media publication went on to revealed that United have submitted a £42m transfer bid to Tottenham for the player but it is far from certain if the North London club will release Eriksen to a direct rival.
Should United finally complete their £42m move for the player, Tottenham will record a huge profit of £30m having signed him for £12m from Ajax during the 2012-13 season.
Real Madrid are also linked with his services as reports claimed that Zidane sees the 27-year-old as an alternative to Paul Pogba.
United failed to release the Frenchman in the summer and it is unlikely that Solskjaer will sanction his exit in the middle of the campaign. Hence, the French tactician is hoping to lure the relatively cheap midfielder to Santiago Bernabeu.
