Paul Scholes Picks Surprise Candidate For No. 10 Role

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has opted for a surprise candidate for the number 10 role.

While on BT Sports, Paul Scholes opted for England international Marcus Rashford as the player for the number 10 role when asked to pick his best 11.

Marcus Rashford is the leading goalscorer at Manchester  United with eight goals in all competitions and has spent the majority of his playing time on the wings or as a central striker.

Paul Scholes is widely regarded as one of the greatest no. 10s in the history of Manchester United and he believes that Marcus Rashford will thrive in that role.

Marcus Rashford has never played in that role for the Red Devils but Paul Schuler is backing him to make a positive impact if manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decides to use him in that role.

He was one of the goalscorers as Manchester United booked their place in the last 32 of the Europa League courtesy the dominant 3-0 win over Partizan Belgrade FC of Serbia.

Mason Greenwood scored his third goal in a Manchester United shirt to give his team the lead against the Serbians in the first half before Anthony Martial added a second goal just before the halftime interval.

Marcus Rashford rounded off the scoring at the start of the second half.
