West London giants Chelsea have maintained their place at the top of Group H of the Champions League following the 4-4 draw at home to Dutch champions Ajax Amsterdam.

Chelsea came from three goals down to secure a draw with Ajax Amsterdam in front of their home fans.

Ajax Amsterdam made a good start courtesy an own goal from Tammy Abraham before Jorginho equalized from the penalty spot after the lively Christian Pulisic was fouled in the box.

Quincy Promes and a Cesar Azpilicueta’s own goal gave Ajax Amsterdam a 3-1 lead at the halftime interval before Dutch international Donny Van Der Beek added a fourth goal at the start of the second half.

Chelsea fought back with three goals to salvage a draw as they capitalized on the red card given to the Ajax Amsterdam duo of Danny Blind and Joel Veltman.

Cesar Azpilicueta atoned for his mistake by reducing the deficit for his team in the 63rd minute before the visitors were reduced to nine men as a result of the red card given to Danny Blind and Joel Veltman in quick succession.

Another Jorginho penalty and second substitute Reece James dragged Chelsea back level as they made their numerical advantage.
