EPL: Willian Makes Best Player Shortlist

Chelsea winger Willian has made the best player shortlist for the Premier League for the month of October.

The Brazilian was part of a six-man shortlist for the Premier League Player of the Month for October.

Willian has been an important player for the Blues in their recent run of four straight wins in the Premier League with three of those victories coming in the month of October.

He scored in the first league game of October, a 2-0 win at home to Brighton and Hove Albion.

Willian has been able to step up for Chelsea in the absence of former talisman Eden Hazard who left the club to join Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid in the summer.

He didn’t get on the scoresheet during the second league game of October, a 1-0 victory at home to Newcastle United.

Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso scored the only goal of the game to hand the Blues a third straight win in the Premier League and a second successive victory of October.

Willian was back on the scoresheet during the last league game last weekend.

He was one of the goalscorers as Chelsea beat Burnley 4-2 away from home.

Willian will battle the likes of Ilkay Gundogan, Jamie Vardy, Jack Grealish, Dean Henderson and Youri Tielemans for the aforementioned best player award.
