Ray Parlour Reveals Why Competition Is Important To Chelsea, Man Utd

Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour has revealed why the Carabao Cup is very important for both Chelsea and Manchester United ahead of their fourth round meeting on Wednesday night.

Chelsea play hosts to Manchester United for the right to secure a quarterfinal spot in the Carabao Cup this season.

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour talked about the Carabao Cup fourth round meeting between hosts Chelsea and Manchester United while he was on ‘The Debate’ on Sky Sports.

According to him, the Carabao Cup represents a very good opportunity for young managers like Frank Lampard (Chelsea) and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (Manchester United) to win a first title in their managerial career in England.

Chelsea and Manchester United are both on a winning run ahead of their meeting at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night though the former has a longer victory sequence.

Frank Lampard has done an admirable job as the Chelsea manager despite losing his first game in charge earlier this season.

Ironically, his first loss came against Manchester United via a 4-0 loss in the Premier League at the home of the Red Devils.

Lampard and Chelsea have won their last seven games in all competitions, while Manchester United are targeting a third straight win ahead of tonight’s game.
