German World Cup winner Mesut Ozil is in the Arsenal squad for the upcoming Carabao Cup game at the home of Liverpool in the fourth round of the competition.

As confirmed by Arsenal boss Unai Emery during his pre-match reaction to the Liverpool game on Tuesday afternoon, Ozil is in the travelling party for the game but the Spaniard didn’t confirm whether the former Real Madrid, Werder Bremen and Schalke 04 playmaker will be in the starting XI.

Mesut Ozil returns to the Arsenal squad after missing the last six games despite the fact that he is not injured.

His last appearance came in the Carabao Cup third round win over Nottingham Forest.

The German last featured for the Gunners during the 5-0 thrashing of the English Championship outfit last month.

Mesut Ozil has featured in just two games for Arsenal this term as he has been frozen out of the team in the past weeks.

He played 71 minutes during the 2-2 draw at bottom club Watford in week five of the current Premier League campaign.

Arsenal led 2-0 at the halftime interval but still managed to fail in the bid to pick up three points.

He also played 71 minutes against Nottingham Forest in the last round of the Carabao Cup.
