Arsenal captain Granit Xhaka felt the full wrath of the fans during the Premier League clash between the Gunners and London rivals Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium.

The Arsenal fans booed him off the pitch after the Swiss international walked off the pitch slowly while the team was in search of a winning goal having been pegged back to 2-2 from two goals down.

Xhaka was substituted on the hour mark and that decision from Arsenal boss Unai Emery was cheered by the fans before those cheers turned to boos when the Swiss midfielder threw the armband on the floor before walking off grudgingly. He also cupped his ears to the fans in reaction to the boos before telling them to f**k off.

Granit Xhaka played a part in the second goal conceded by Arsenal as he failed to deal with the cross from Crystal Palace midfielder James McArthur who provided the assist for Ghanaian international Jordan Ayew to score an equaliser.

Arsenal shot into a two-goal lead inside ten minutes with goals from the centre back duo of Sokratis Papasthathopoulos and David Luiz.

Crystal Palace scored their first goal through a Luka Milivojevic penalty awarded with the help of VAR.
