Premier League giants Manchester United have won a game for the first time in over a month following their slim win over Serbian top flight club Partizan Belgrade in the Europa League.

Manchester United ended their six-game winless run with a 1-0 win at the home of Partizan Belgrade in their Matchday Three clash at the Partizan Stadium on Thursday night.

French international Anthony Martial was the matchwinner for the Red Devils following his first half penalty.

Martial was making his first start for Manchester United since August.

He had not started a match for his team since the Premier League game at home to Crystal Palace which ended in a 2-1 loss for the Red Devils.

He has been injured since that Crystal Palace game at Old Trafford.

Anthony Martial returned to the team for the Premier League game at home to arch rivals Liverpool last weekend.

The Frenchman came on as a second half substitute for England international Marcus Rashford.

Manchester United came close to ending their barren run against Liverpool on Sunday before the late goal from Liverpool substitute Adam Lallana secured a point for the Premier League leaders.

With the slim win over Partizan Belgrade, Manchester United have opened up a two-point lead at the top of Group L.
