Premier League legend Martin Keown has downgraded Manchester United ahead of their league meeting with Liverpool this weekend.
Martin Keown is a former Arsenal defender who was part of history at the club during his playing career with the Gunners.
He was part of the Arsenal team that went through the entire Premier League campaign without a single loss during the 2003/04 season.
The ex-England international player downgraded Manchester United in his column for the Daily Mail as he described the fallen Premier League giants as a midtable team ahead of their home league meeting with arch rivals Liverpool.
Manchester United are the most successful team in the history of the Premier League with 11 titles.

Ahead of the game with league leaders Liverpool, Manchester United are without a win in three games in the Premier League and five games in all competition.
They are in the bottom half of the table as things stand.
Breaking! Why RB Leipzig Won’t Convince Timo Werner To Ignore Man United Bid
Manchester United speculated move for RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner has received a huge boost as Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann claimed he won’t stop the striker from leaving.
The RB Leipzig manager promised not to block Man United move for his most in-form player in January despite his desire to have the 23-year-old striker around beyond this season.
Nagelsmann tilde reporters that he will support the player’s decisions about his future even if it means losing him United or Liverpool.
According to the manager, he will advise the German star to consider his playing time and overall development while making a final decision as regards to his future.

Having spent three-and-a-half years at Leipzig, Werner’s immediate future has been one of the most trending topics among transfer pundits as Man United and Liverpool are very much keen on his signature.
The German has scored 76 goals in 130 matches for Leipzig, and the impressive goalscoring record has caught the attention of the two Premier League giants.
Despite Nagelsmann’s promise to let go of the player, RB Leipzig board members are unwilling to release the 23-year-old this summer because he recently extended his deal with them.
Man United manager Solskjaer will definitely be happy with Nagelsmann’s comments but he still faces stiff challenges from Liverpool and Leipzig’s hierarchy.
Ex-United Target Told Club To Wait For More Than A Year For His Services
Onetime Manchester United’s prime transfer target Danny Rose has told the Red Devils and potential suitors to wait until 2021 before vying for his services as he is currently unavailable for sale.
The England international full-back was heavily linked to Manchester United during José Mourinho’s reign due to the Portuguese’s lack of trust in Luke Shaw’s abilities.
Despite Mourinho’s unrelenting efforts to have the player at Old Trafford, Tottenham successfully stayed glue to Rose’s services.
Though the Red Devils have since moved on from the player’s services, some transfer podcasts still believe that Solskjaer will be happy to have the England international at Old Trafford.

However, Rose has responded to rumors linking him out of Tottenham in the next summer window as he said that he is happy under Mauricio Pochettino’s guide.
According to the player while speaking with The Evening Standard, he isn’t interested in changing clubs before the end of his contract with Tottenham which will run until 2021.
Watford is equally said to be looking at the possibility of signing the 29-year-old in the summer, but the Hornets will now have to end the chase over his services until after 18 months.
Rose hasn’t been a stable figure in Pochettino’s starting lineup so far this season, no thanks to form and fitness concerns.
Man United Could Sign In-form Winger In The Summer
PSV Eindhoven winger Steven Bergwijn could end up joining Manchester United in the nearest future if reports from the Mirror is something to trust.
The British media said that the Dutchman wants to have a taste of Champions League football next season, hence, he could be ending his stay at the Eredivisie side at the end of the current campaign.
Though the player wasn’t quoted word for word by the British media, it is believed that the player will consider the Red Devils offer should they manage to qualify for next year’s Champions League competition.
Irrespective of the player’s availability, Solskjaer’s side could still miss out on the Dutchman as it is very unlikely they would end the season being among the League’s top-four clubs.

They currently occupy the seventh position with 16 points, 9 points behind Manchester City who are in the fourth and the last Champion’s League qualifying spot.
Meanwhile, Norwich City are also linked with a move for Bergwijn’s signature as the Yellow Canaries look to upgrading their team in the second half of the campaign.
Unfortunately, the Carrow Road outfits should be prepared to miss out in the race for the winger’s services as they are guaranteed to finish far behind the top four, judging by their current form.
They occupy the last (20th) position with just seven points and they need to up their game if they must retain their Premier League status next season.
