Goal Award: Arsenal Striker Focused On Meeting Target
Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has reiterated his focus on meeting the target of finishing as the Golden Boot Award recipient in the Premier League this season.
Aubameyang is focused on meeting that target in his first full season with the Gunners.
In his recent interview monitored by Goal, the Gabonese international revealed that he would be delighted to end the season by winning the award for the highest goalscorer in the league.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has 19 goals in the Premier League this term and the former Borussia Dortmund star is currently trailing three players in the race to win the Golden Boot Award.
Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah currently leads the goalscorers’ chart with 21 goals ahead of Reds teammate Sadio Mane and Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero.
Mane and Aguero both have 20 goals each in the Premier League this season.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also talked about the need for Arsenal to get back to Europe’s premier club competition.
He believes that the Gunners are on course to ending a two-year absence from the competition.
The Gabonese star also talked about his relationship with striking partner Alexandre Lacazette.
According to him, they share the same ideas on how to play football and it’s not surprising that they get along on and off the pitch.
