Premier League giants Manchester United are said to be plotting a double January swoop for two Croatian players.

Manchester United want to salvage their season by boosting their squad with quality players when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.

According to football365, Manchester United are keen to sign Juventus attacker Mario Mandzukic and Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic.

Mario Mandzukic and Ivan Rakitic were part of the Croatian national team squad that surprised a lot of football fans by reaching the final of last summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.

Croatia were beaten finalists at the tournament following their 4-2 loss to eventual winners France.

Mario Mandzukic retired from the national team almost immediately after that tournament.

Recent reports claimed that he has already agreed personal terms with Manchester United ahead of a nine million pounds move in January.

It was revealed that he will sign a contract that will run till the summer of 2021 and that the Croatian striker will earn yearly salary of 4.4 million pounds at Manchester United.

For Ivan Rakitic, he’s surplus to requirements in the Barcelona midfield and Manchester United are said to be one of the clubs interested in signing him in the New Year.
