Arsenal v Burnley: Unai Emery Speaks On Playing This Player

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has hinted that record signing Nicolas Pepe could be in line for his first start since his big money move this summer when the Gunners host Burnley at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal will play the Clarets in the first game on Saturday.

When asked about Pepe during his pre-match press conference ahead of the Burnley match, Unai Emery revealed that the Ivorian international winger is getting better in training after a disrupted preseason program.

Nicolas Pepe came late for preseason after his participation at the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Egypt.

He was part of the Ivory Coast team that reached the quarterfinals at the tournament before they were beaten on penalties by eventual winners Algeria after the two teams played out a 1-1 draw at the end of 120 minutes.

Pepe linked up with Arsenal earlier this summer after completing his move from French Ligue 1 outfit Lille.

The 24-year-old was signed by the Gunners for a fee believed to be around €80m (£72m).

He’s the record signing at Arsenal ahead of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who signed for the club in January 2018.

The Aubameyang transfer fee is believed to be around £56m as agreed by Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund.

EPL: Marco Silva Reveals When Alex Iwobi Will Play For Everton

Everton manager Marco Silva has hinted that new signing Alex Iwobi could make his debut for the club in their away game at newly promoted outfit Aston Villa.

The Midlands club will host Everton in the first game of the week three fixtures in the Premier League at Villa Park on Friday night.

In his pre-match press conference on Thursday, Marco Silva said that Alex Iwobi could make his first appearance for the Toffees against Aston Villa though he was quick to point out that the Super Eagles of Nigeria player won’t start the game.

Marco Silva said Alex Iwobi is not fit to play 90 minutes at the moment largely due to his fitness levels.

Alex Iwobi joined Everton from North London giants Arsenal in a deal reported to be around £40m.

The 24-year-old left Arsenal after 15 years at the club.

The Nigerian player had been at Arsenal since the tender age of eight.

He came through the ranks at the North London club before making his first team debut in October 2015.

Alex Iwobi scored 15 goals during his time as an Arsenal player.

His exit was facilitated by the signing of Nicholas Pepe in a club-record deal worth around £72m.

Unai Emery Speaks On Starting This Player Against Liverpool

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has hinted that new signing Nicholas Pepe could play a more prominent role for the Gunners when they travel to face Premier League leaders Liverpool on Saturday evening in one of the week three games.

In his pre-match press conference on Thursday, the Arsenal manager spoke about Pepe and the possibility of starting the Liverpool game at Anfield.

According to him, Nicholas Pepe has improved his fitness levels from three weeks ago when he joined Arsenal in a club-record deal of €80m (£72m).

Nicholas Pepe signed for Arsenal this summer after spending two years at French Ligue 1 side Lille.

Unai Emery revealed that Pepe played 15 minutes against Newcastle United in the opening game of the new Premier League season before playing for 45 minutes in the second league game against Burnley last weekend.

The former Valencia, Almeria and Paris Saint Germain (PSG) manager went on to say that Ivorian international Pepe is ready to take on more minutes with his improved fitness levels.

Arsenal and Liverpool clash at Anfield with their respective perfect starts on the line.

The Gunners defeated Newcastle United and Burnley in their first two games, while Liverpool saw off Norwich City and Southampton for their first two league matches of the season.

Unai Emery Asks These Two Players To Leave Emirates



Arsenal manager Unai Emery has told two players that they have no future at the club beyond this summer.

The Gunners boss talked about these two players namely Shkodran Mustafi and Mohamed ElNeny during his pre-match press conference ahead of the crucial game against Liverpool.

Unai Emery takes his team to Anfield to play Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday evening in one of the week three games in the Premier League.

According to the Spanish tactician, he has told both Mustafi and ElNeny that they are not part of his long-term plans at Arsenal.

He wants them to leave the club this summer.

The Premier League transfer market has ended but players can still leave their respective clubs before the European transfer window closes on September 2.

Arsenal have already gotten some transfer funds from the sales of players like Alex Iwobi, Laurent Koscielny, Krystian Bielik, Carl Jenkinson and David Ospina.

The Gunners recouped £50m from the sale of the aforementioned players.

Arsenal also released players like Danny Welbeck, Stephan Lichtsteiner, Aaron Ramsey and Petr Cech at the end of their respective contracts this summer.

Welbeck has joined Watford on a free transfer just like Ramsey who has signed for Juventus as a free agent.

Cech has retired from football and he’s now the sporting director at Chelsea.

Unai Emery Speaks On These Two Players Ahead Of Liverpool Clash



Arsenal manager Unai Emery has provided an update on the fitness situation of both Mesut Ozil and Granit Xhaka ahead of the trip to Liverpool in the Premier League.

Mesut Ozil is yet to feature for Arsenal this season due to security issues, while Granit Xhaka missed out on the last game, a 2-1 win over Burnley, because of a back problem.

Unai Emery talked about the two players during his pre-match presser on Thursday ahead of the top-of-the-table clash with Liverpool.

The Spanish tactician disclosed that the two players are back in full training ahead of the game before adding that he will wait till the final training session on Friday to make a decision on the them and their potential involvement in the squad for the Liverpool game.

Liverpool and Arsenal are the only clubs with a perfect record after just two rounds of league games but it’s certain that at least one of the two teams will lose that 100% record.

Arsenal legend Charlie Nicholas has pointed out the player that could be exposed when his former club takes on Liverpool in their Premier League clash this weekend.

Ahead of the meeting scheduled for Anfield on Saturday evening, the two teams have a perfect record at the start of the new league season.

Liverpool have won their two Premier League matches this season, while Arsenal have also been able to achieve the same thing for the first time in a decade.

At least one of the two teams will lose that perfect record at the end of Saturday.
