Premier League giants Manchester United are confident that they will sign Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic when the winter transfer market reopens in two months’ time.
This is according to the publication from popular news outlet Goal which claimed that Manchester United will sign Mandzukic for nine million pounds.
The retired Croatian international attacker will boost the Manchester United attack ahead of the second half of the season as the Red Devils try to salvage their season.
Manchester United have struggled badly in absence of this season’s central striker Anthony Martial.
French international Martial has not played for Manchester United for the better part of the last two months.
His last appearance for the Red Devils came in August during a Premier League game at home to Crystal Palace.
Martial was unable to save Manchester United from a 2-1 defeat to the Eagles at Old Trafford.
He’s expected to return to the team for the next game, a Premier League clash at home to arch-rivals, Liverpool, this weekend.
Mario Mandzukic will earn 4.4 million pounds on a yearly basis at Manchester United according to the aforementioned report from Goal.
The 33-year-old is expected to sign a deal until the end of next summer.
