Manchester United loanee Alexis Sanchez will be out of action for the rest of 2019 following the injury he picked up while in action for his country Chile during a friendly encounter against Colombia on Saturday night.
With just two minutes to the end of the fiercely contested friendly, the Manchester United-owned striker — who joined Inter Milan on loan in the summer — suffered a massive ankle injury that will keep him in the recuperating room until next year.
Sanchez had a forgettable spell at the Theatre of Dreams as he was only able to score four goals from 35 Premier League in one-and-a-half seasons.
The player appeared to have picked up his pieces since joining the San Siro outfits in August but the recent injury will be a very disappointing one for him and Milan coach Antonio Conte.
As much as Solskjaer won’t feel any direct negative impact of the injury, the manager would have wished to see the player remain fit and active in order to boost his chances of returning back to the goalscoring form he’s known for during his days at the Emirates Stadium.
