Man United are advised to launch a big-money move for Tottenham striker Harry Kane in the winter if they must turn things around at Old Trafford.

According to former United star Lee Sharpe, there is a need for a new striker and the English forward is the best option for the team.

He suggested that the 20-time Premier League champions should be ready to spend big on the English striker due to his goalscoring potentials and the fact that he plays for a rival club.

“You need someone like a Harry Kane for £200m/ £220m that is going to score you 25 goals a season, and you’ve got a different outlook in the team,” he said.

It should be recalled that the Red Devils had the chance to sign the 26-year-old for just £40m some years back but they failed to capture his signature as they claimed the price tag was too high.

It remains unknown if United will heed to the advice as reports claimed that RB Leipzig star Timo Werner and Mario Mandzukic of Juventus are Solskjaer’s prime target in the coming transfer window.

Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford, Harry Kane and Harry Maguire are all in the Three Lions camp as they continue their preparation for the Euro 2020 qualifier against Bulgaria and Czech Republic.
