Premier League giants Manchester United will spend big in the January transfer window to get them out of the trouble they are in at the moment.

This is according to respected journalist Mark Ogden who works for popular media channel ESPN.

According to Mark Ogden, senior Manchester United officials want to spend big on players in January to boost the team ahead of the second half of the season.

Manchester United have started the season poorly with just two wins in the eight games played in the Premier League.

The Red Devils have already lost three times in the league this season.

The 1-0 loss to Newcastle United at St. James Park on Sunday was the third loss suffered by Manchester United this season.

Premier League debutant Matty Longstaff scored the only goal of the game in the second half to hand the Magpies the three points at stake.

It was the second win of the season for Newcastle United.

Manchester United have nine points from the first eight games in the Premier League this season and they are just two points ahead of the bottom three on the table.

Their next league game is a big clash at home to rivals Liverpool.
