Manchester United and Real Madrid transfer target goalkeeper David De Gea is reportedly set to spend big on La Liga Smartbank side Elche, that’s according to reports from Spain on Monday afternoon.

The United goaltender, who recently signed a new improved deal at Old Trafford, is keen on buying the Spanish second division side as he is in talks with the club’s representatives.

According to Super Deporte, the Spanish goalie is interested in buying the club due to his father’s love for Elche.

The media outlet further claimed that the 28-year-old goaltender will newton’s spend nothing less than £16m if he must officially become the owner of Elche football club.

As it stands, De Gea and the club’s officials are in talks and not too many details have been confirmed by reporters who are keeping close tabs on the development.

Meanwhile, the goalkeeper has called on his teammates to up their game if they must end the season in a reasonable position.

De Gea, who conceded a second-half goal at St James Park on Sunday, charge all the Red Devils players not to give up yet as he believes there’s room for improvement.

The Red Devils are currently in their poorest form in history but they will hope that things change when the league resumes after the international break.
