East London giants West Ham United have reportedly demanded a lot of money for one of their most prized assets ahead of the transfer window billed to open next year.

West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice is one of the most sought-after players at the club and Manchester United are one of the numerous teams keeping tabs on the England international.

Manchester United and other big Premier League sides were strongly linked with Declan Rice in the summer but he ended up staying at West Ham United for the new season.

The Daily Star claimed that West Ham United will demand 80 million pounds for Declan Rice.

This is much more than Manchester United would have expected to spend on the defensive midfielder who came through the ranks at Chelsea before being released at the age of 14.

West Ham United signed him on a free transfer and he went on to make his debut for the Hammers in the Premier League during the away game at Manchester City in the 2017/18 campaign.

Manchester United have not replaced the likes of Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini in their midfield since the two players left the club earlier this year.

Declan Rice could be a perfect replacement for the aforementioned midfielders.
