Frank Lampard has won his first game as a manager in the Champions League after he led his Chelsea team to a slim win at the home of French Ligue 1 side Lille.

Lampard picked up his first win in the competition after the 2-1 victory over Lille in their Group H clash on Wednesday night.

The win reinvigorated the Blues’ to push for a place in the knockout stage of the competition.

Chelsea took the lead on 22 minutes through the in-form Tammy Abraham who has now scored eight goals in 11 games in all competitions.

Nigerian-born England international Tammy Abraham already scored seven goals in just eight games in the Premier League before the Champions League clash at Lille.

Tammy Abraham is an England international but he’s still eligible to turn out for another team on the international stage since England is yet to give him a competitive debut.

Just like Tammy Abraham, Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has also been in red-hot form for Lille this season and he was responsible for their equaliser in the 33rd minute.

Victor Osimhen had scored six goals and also provided two assists in eight league games before the Chelsea game.

Chelsea won the game 2-1 by virtue of the 78th-minute strike from Willian.
