Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has revealed his first choice defender ahead of the Premier League clash with Brighton and Hove Albion at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

Lampard talked about his first choice defender during his pre-match press conference for the Brighton game.

During his latest chat with journalists on Friday, Frank Lampard said that Nigerian-born English defender Fikayo Tomori is his first or second defender.

Fikayo Tomori excelled under the watchful eyes of Frank Lampard while the former Blues midfielder was the Derby County manager last season.

The young centre back was on loan at the English Championship club from Chelsea last season and he was a key player for the second tier outfit as they came close to joining the big teams in the Premier League.

Derby County were beaten by present Premier League team Aston Villa in the Championship playoff final at the end of last season.

Fikayo Tomori returned to Chelsea this summer and he has grown to become an important player for Frank Lampard.

He has started the last three league games for Chelsea.

Fikayo Tomori scored his first goal for Chelsea during the 5-2 away win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

He spent previous loan spells at Chelsea’s next opponents, Brighton, and Hull City before joining Derby County last season.
