Premier League club Brighton and Hove Albion are plotting a loan move for Chelsea outcast Danny Drinkwater according to the latest reports coming out of the British media.

Danny Drinkwater has been told that he has no future at Chelsea despite the change of manager.

New Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has already told him to look for a new club as he revealed that the former Leicester City midfielder is not part of his future plans at Stamford Bridge.

Brighton could offer him an escape route from his nightmarish time at Chelsea.

According to the Daily Mail, Brighton manager Graham Potter wants to take Danny Drinkwater on a season-long loan deal ahead of the new Premier League campaign which begins in the next four days.

Danny Drinkwater became a Chelsea player while Italian tactician Antonio Conte was the Blues boss.

Chelsea paid £35m to sign him from Leicester City in the summer of 2017 and he has struggled to nail down a place in the first team at the club.

The England international was part of the Leicester City team that stunned the footballing world by winning the Premier League title during the 2015/16 season.

He didn’t make any appearance for Chelsea last season under Maurizio Sarri.
