Barcelona To Sell Man Utd Target In January
Spanish champions Barcelona have concluded plans to sell midfielder Ivan Rakitic according to the latest reports coming out of the Spanish media.
Ivan Rakitic is deemed to be surplus to requirements at Barcelona and they are ready to sell him when the transfer market reopens in the New Year.
This is according to the publication from Spanish news outlet Sport which claimed that the likes of Manchester United and Inter Milan are interested in signing the Croatian international.
Ivan Rakitic was linked with a move away from Barcelona in the summer but nothing came out of it.
He has less than two years left on his contract with Barcelona.
Rakitic has not been a regular in the Barcelona team this season due to the good form of Brazilian international Arthur Melo and summer signing Frenkie De Jong.
He has played 247 times for Barcelona since joining the club from fellow Spanish La Liga outfit Sevilla.
Since his transfer to Barcelona five years ago, Ivan Rakitic has won four La Liga titles and the 2015 Champions League.
Manchester United were one of the clubs linked with a move for Ivan Rakitic in the summer and they could make a move for him in the next transfer window.
Barcelona Prefer Man Utd Star To Firmino In Striker Quest
Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona prefer Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford over Liverpool star Roberto Firmino according to the latest reports emanating from the Spanish media.
Barcelona are on the lookout for a striker in their bid to sign a replacement for first choice hitman Luis Suarez.
At the age of 33, Uruguayan international Luis Suarez is entering the twilight of his career and Barcelona is on the search for a replacement.
According to the specific publication from the stables of Spanish media portal Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona prefer the signing of Marcus Rashford to Roberto Firmino despite the fact that the latter is in better form than the Manchester United attacker.
Barcelona have already drawn up a list of target strikers.
Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane and Paris Saint Germain (PSG) attacker Kylian Mbappe lead the striker shortlist for Barcelona.
England international Marcus Rashford has scored just three goals in the Premier League this season.
He has scored just one goal in the last seven games on the Premier League scene and the Manchester United Academy graduate is a part of a blunt attack at Old Trafford.
Manchester United have managed just two goals in the last five games in the Premier League.
United Supporters Are Saying The Same Thing About Club’s Transfer Target
Manchester United are set to explore their chances of signing Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic next year after the player’s decision to leave Camp Nou in search of regular game time.
The Croatian midfielder has started just one La Liga match this season but he is surplus to requirements and the Catalans have placed just £35m price tag on his services.
Surprisingly, Manchester United fans are not excited about the latest developments as they claimed the Croatian isn’t the answer to the goalscoring problem facing the club.
They believed the 31-year-old’s experience and current form won’t help the Red Devils return to glory days. Here are some of their comments on social media:
One fan said: ““£40m for an aging midfielder. He can sit next to Matic,”
Another fans funnily wrote on his Reddit account: “How to replace Matic? Buy another Matic. Woodward masterclass”
One of the fans said the midfielder is too slow for United’s playing style. He wrote: “He is too slow for the Premier League. Croat speaking here,”
Another fan wants the player on a year deal as he won’t be actively involved in many matches played by the club. He wrote: “I mean he’s gonna be deadwood in a year or so… But we so desperately need someone I’m not sure…”
Champions League Winners Reignite Interest In Manchester United Star
Manchester United star Marcus Rashford still remains one of Barcelona’s prime targets despite his inconsistent form in front of goal.
The young England international striker hasn’t been in his great form so far this season but that isn’t stopping the Catalans from including him in their wish-list.
The centre-forward was once linked with a switch to Camp Nou in the summer but it turned out to be a mere speculation as nothing materialize between the two clubs.

The same source also claimed that PSG star Kylian Mbappe and Tottenham striker Harry Kane are also in the list of players who could be heading to Camp Nou in January due to keen interest from Barcelona.
It should be recalled that Allnigeriasoccer reported that Nigeria youngster Victor Osimhen is also attracting interest from the Catalans following his bright start to life with French Ligue 1 side Lille.
The young centre-forward has scored eight goals in all competitions this season and he is expected to add more to it judging by his obvious goalscoring prowess.
Man United Set To Miss Out On 19-year-old Star As Two Champions League Winners Join In The Race
Manchester United are in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho but they face intense competition from Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The young England international is one of the best wingers in the German Bundesliga and his performances have attracted interest from the three European giants.
Unfortunately for the Red Devils, the Blaugranas are reportedly leading the race for the youngster due to their status as regular Champions League participants, unlike United who are uncertain to be among the Premier League top-four clubs at the end of this season.
It is believed that Sancho will only depart the Westfalenstadion for club who are guaranteed of playing in next season’s Champions League competition.
Real Madrid are also linked with the player as Zidane hopes to shake-up things at the final third of his team.
The Galaticos haven’t been too impressive so far this season but Zidane is upbeat that is attacking front-line will be more deadly if he eventually captures the former City youngster.
However, the three interested clubs should be willing to pay €120m or more if they are to lure the England international out of Bundesliga anytime soon.
Messi To Miss Out On High Profile Friendly
Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi will miss the high profile friendly between Argentina and old foes Germany billed for the Signa Iduna Park, Dortmund on Wednesday night.
Messi has battled with fitness problems since the start of the season but he’s gradually returning to full fitness.
He scored his first goal of the season for Barcelona at the weekend during the Spanish La Liga win over Sevilla at home.
Lionel Messi scored the last goal of the game as Barcelona thrashed Sevilla 4-0 despite finishing the game with nine men.
He will miss the international friendly against the Germans due to the ban imposed on him.
Messi was banned from international football for three months and also fined to the tune of 50,000 dollars after he accused South American officials of being biased in favour of hosts Brazil at this year’s COPA America tournament.
The Barcelona skipper had earlier been sent off in the first half of the third/fourth place playoff game with then champions Chile.
Despite his dismissal, Messi and Argentina took third place with a 2-1 win over the Chileans.
The complaint from Messi came from the semifinal clash with hosts Brazil who eventually won the tournament.
Argentina lost the semifinal to the Brazilians via a 2-0 defeat.
Barcelona Set To Sign Manchester United Onetime Wonderkid
Barcelona Picks Interest In United’s Onetime Wonderkid.
Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford was one of the best youngsters in England during his breakout season at Old Trafford in 2015-16 season.
The English forward was obviously talented so much that he was compared to Cristiano Ronaldo and many other United legends as at the time.
Four years later, things seems to have changed as Rashford is currently not in his best form and he could be out of the Manchester club sooner than expected.
The youngster has reportedly attracted Barcelona’s interest as the Catalans continue to find a potential goalscorer who will replace aging Argentina goal-poacher Lionel Messi when he retires.
According to The Athletic, the 21-year-old striker, who has scored 55 United goals, is seen as the perfect addition to the Catalans judging by his goalscoring record for club and country.
However, it is very much unclear if United would want to let go of such talented striker in the summer considering the fact that the team need more in-form and quality players at the final half of the pitch.
Meanwhile, United manager Solskjaer could make a shock move for Tottenham striker Harry Kane in January, that’s according to reports emanating from Old Trafford.
The Tottenham striker was sometime said to be United’s prime target it turned out to be a mere rumor as Pochettino failed to sanction his move out of North London.
