Barcelona captain Lionel Messi has spoken about the failed move for Paris Saint Germain (PSG) attacker Neymar for the first time.
Messi talked about the failed move for Neymar in an interview with popular Spanish media outlet Sport.
He was said to be one of the senior Barcelona players championing Neymar’s return to the Nou Camp.
Lionel Messi and Neymar were Barcelona teammates for four years between 2013 and 2017.
During that time, Barcelona won the 2015 Champions League title and two league titles.
Lionel Messi confirmed that he wanted Neymar to return to Barcelona just before the European transfer window ended last week.

He went on to say that Barcelona didn’t do everything within their power to ensure that Neymar returned to the club.
Messi further said that Barcelona still have a good chance to win major honours with the current squad.
He has missed the start of the new Spanish La Liga season because of a calf injury and his absence has affected Barcelona who have just four points from the first three games.
Lionel Messi also confirmed that he will stay at Barcelona amidst the intense transfer rumours linking the five-time Ballon d’Or with an exit from the Spanish La Liga giants.
