Alex Iwobi

Former Arsenal striker Kanu Nwankwo believes that the Gunners made a mistake by selling Alex Iwobi before the recent transfer window came to an end.

The Gunners legend talked about Alex Iwobi in an exclusive interview with popular media outlet Goal.

Kanu Nwankwo is adamant that Arsenal should have kept Super Eagles star Iwobi at the club.

Alex Iwobi joined fellow Premier League side Everton on deadline day of the English top flight transfer market.

The 23-year-old joined the Toffees in a deal that could rise to £40m.

Everton turned their attention to Alex Iwobi after they failed to lure number one wing target Wilfred Zaha from Crystal Palace.

The Toffees made several attempts to sign Zaha only for them to be rebuffed by his team.

Alex Iwobi has already started his Everton career on a positive note with two goals in his first three games.

He scored one of the goals as Everton beat Lincoln City 4-2 in the second round of the Carabao Cup.

Alex Iwobi went on to add to his goal tally during the 3-2 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria player came through the Arsenal Academy before making his debut for the first team four years ago.
