Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil could leave the club before the end of the current transfer market according to the latest report coming out of the media in Europe.

The European transfer window ends on September 2 and Ozil could leave the North London club for greener pastures before then.

This is according to the publication from the stables of Soccernet.

Mesut Ozil has not played for Arsenal this season and the German could leave the North Londoners before the transfer market ends next week.

He might find it hard to engineer a move away mainly due to his hefty weekly wages.

The 2014 FIFA World Cup winner earns £350,000 on a weekly basis at Arsenal on the back on the contract that he signed in February 2018.

Mesut Ozil missed the first game of the season in the Premier League due to security concerns after he was targeted by knife-wielding criminals.

He missed the game at the home of Newcastle United which Arsenal won 1-0 thanks to the second half strike from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Ozil then missed the second league game of the season, the 2-1 win over Burnley at home.

The German missed the game as a result of illness before he was left out of the 18-man squad for the Liverpool game at the weekend.
