Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has stopped Paris Saint Germain (PSG) attacker Neymar from securing a transfer to arch rivals Real Madrid according to Fox Sports.
Neymar has been attracting strong interest from both Barcelona and Real Madrid this summer but it seems like the Brazilian international player will shun the latter in favor of the former mainly due to influence of the aforementioned Pique.
The retired Spanish international centre back is keen to see Neymar return to Barcelona rather than see the former Santos FC of Brazil forward leave PSG for Real Madrid.
Gerard Pique recently said that he has been in touch with Neymar to talk about the possibility of him returning to the Nou Camp after two years in Paris.
The Spaniard said that its a matter of time before Neymar’s next destination is determined.
Recent reports claimed that Barcelona have made a breakthrough in negotiations with PSG for Neymar who set them back to the tune of €220m when he left the Nou Camp to join them in 2017.
Barcelona have reached an agreement worth €170m with PSG but there’s still some sort of agreement to be reached in terms of payment structure.
PSG have demanded the whole transfer fee at once.
