Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has been named the best striker of the last ten years by former teammate Omar Mascarell.

The ex-Real Madrid player mentioned French striker Benzema as the best centre forward from the last decade in a chat with popular media portal Goal.

Omar Mascarell made just one appearance for Real Madrid and it came in the Copa Del Rey in 2013.

He signed for the Spanish La Liga giants in 2010.

Mascarell spent loan spells at clubs like German Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt and Spanish side Sporting Gijon before he left the club permanently last year.

Omar Mascarell plays his club football for German Bundesliga side Schalke 04 at the moment following his move from Real Madrid in 2018.

Karim Benzema has been the lone striker for Real Madrid for the better part of the last decade.

The French player has already scored two goals and also provided one assist for Real Madrid in two Spanish La Liga matches.

Karim Benzema scored one of the goals as Real Madrid began their league campaign with a 3-1 win at the home of Celta Vigo.

He added his second goal of the season in the 1-1 draw at home to Real Valladolid in what was the second league game of the season.
