The Reds had 97 points while eventual champions Manchester City recorded 98 points to take the title for the second successive season.

The Reds are one of only two clubs to achieve the feat.
Arsenal are the other club to win the first two Premier League games of the season.
The two teams, Liverpool and Arsenal, will face each other in a week three fixture this season.
